Description
Explore Achilleion Palace in the village of Gastouri, a refined neoclassical residence built in 1891 for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sisi, and later associated with Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany, where you will move through its elegant interiors and walk across its landscaped gardens with open views over the island. The route continues to Kanoni, a distinctive viewpoint overlooking the Vlacherna Monastery and the famous Mouse Island, a small green islet surrounded by local mythology and accessible by a short boat ride, creating one of the most recognisable scenes of Corfu. The experience concludes in Corfu Town, where you will explore its historic centre shaped by Venetian architecture, visit the Old Fortress, walk through the narrow streets known as “kandounia”, see the Church of Saint Spyridon, and pass through Liston Square and the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, while also having time to enjoy a coffee, discover local shops, or experience the atmosphere of the town at your own pace.
