Visiting Paleokastritsa, one of Corfu’s most renowned coastal locations, you will experience a landscape of exceptional natural beauty with crystal-clear waters and dramatic coastline, while also visiting the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, a historic religious site where you can admire Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons, along with important artefacts of the Greek Orthodox Church. The experience continues with a visit to Achilleion Palace in the village of Gastouri, a neoclassical residence built in 1891 for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sisi, and later associated with Kaiser Wilhelm II, where guests can explore the stately interiors and walk through the extensive gardens overlooking the island. The final stop is Corfu Town, where you will have free time to visit the Old Fortress, see the Church of Saint Spyridon, one of the island’s most important landmarks, walk through the narrow streets known as “kandounia”, explore Liston Square and the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, and enjoy time for coffee, shopping, museum visits, or local dining at your own pace.
